Over the weekend of May 10 and 11, members of the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department responded to numerous emergency situations and participated in training exercises.

Firefighters responded to a suspected chimney fire at a home on Saturday. Crews also arrived early on Sunday morning after a car plunged into a river after falling down a 15-foot hill.

Department personnel got refresher training on the fire boat in addition to emergency responses. According to officials, the lesson included fire pump operations, onboard electronics navigation, and familiarization with the area.
