This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Dummerston, VT - Dummerston Fire Department members were engaged in multiple brush fire responses across the region, supporting mutual aid partners during complex incidents involving downed live power lines and active fire spread.

Crews assisted East Dover firefighters in establishing control lines from flank to flank, successfully cutting off the head of the fire. Once electrical hazards were mitigated and power was secured, crews completed mop-up operations, addressing hotspots and securing the affected area.

Shortly after clearing, units were redirected to assist Marlboro crews with an additional brush fire, continuing regional support efforts.

Alongside emergency operations, department members advanced their professional development, with one member completing Firefighter II certification, two members beginning NREMR training, and Rory Dubbs successfully passing the Fire II exam—earning full certification. The department extends its congratulations to Rory on this achievement.
