Freetown, MA - Freetown firefighters responded to multiple reports of a structure fire on Water Street in Assonet Village, where first-arriving companies encountered heavy fire conditions in a vacant residence.
A working fire assignment was transmitted, bringing all available Freetown personnel to the scene along with mutual aid engines from Berkley and Lakeville.
Dartmouth District 3 provided station coverage, while the Providence Canteen supported crews with rehabilitation services during extended operations.
Firefighters operated for several hours to bring the incident under control and complete overhaul.
This marks the third fire at this location within the same month.
The origin and cause remain under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office, along with local police and fire officials.
No injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported
