South Windsor, CT - South Windsor firefighters responded to a reported structure fire at Murphy Road Recycling, located at 600/602 Nutmeg Road North (rear building of USA All American Waste), following confirmation from in-building camera systems.

Crews arrived within minutes and located a mattress burning on top of a large pile of refuse inside the structure. The fire was quickly knocked down with no extension to the building.

Firefighters deployed two handlines to complete extensive overhaul operations and ensure all hot spots were fully extinguished.

A total of over 20 personnel responded, including Engines 3, 4, and 6, Tower 1, FP9, and Car 10.

The South Windsor Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the origin and cause of the fire.
