BRANFORD, CT — May 6th — At 609 West Main Street, where Nail Expressions is located in a six-unit commercial strip, the Branford Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire. When tenants arrived for work, they saw smoke and obvious flames inside the establishment and they dialed 911. Before firefighters came, a nearby business owner tried to put out the fire using a dry chemical extinguisher.

When firefighters arrived on the scene in a matter of minutes, they found that the occupancy was heavily smoke-filled. Crews found a smoldering fire within the building, advanced hose lines, and launched an inside fire assault. Firefighters from Guilford and East Haven provided on-site assistance. There were no recorded injuries to firefighters or civilians.
