ANSONIA, CT — April 25th — Early on Friday morning, members of Eagle Hose & Hook & Ladder Co. #6 responded to reports of smoke in the vicinity of Main Street and Kingston Avenue. Before firemen arrived, residents of a commercial building on Main Street had removed combustible objects from the facility, which is where crews found the smoke.
Firefighters thoroughly inspected the building for fire extension and put out the last hot spots outside. During the inspection, no further fire spread was discovered. Prior to the assignment being recalled, crews also ventilated the building to remove smoke. Units quickly resumed operations following the event, and no casualties were reported.
