BERGENFIELD, NJ - Shortly before 7:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 10th, the Bergenfield Fire Department was dispatched to 33 Cleveland St. for a reported car fire that was extending to a house.

First arriving officers reported a fully involved car fire on the Delta side with extension to all 3 floors, and transmitted a 2nd alarm. As apparatus arrived, (two) 1.75" hand lines were stretched, one to knock down the car fire and another through the front door.

Crews were able to knock down the heavy fire on the exterior and vehicle, however interior crews chased pockets of fire in the walls on all three floors. It took firefighters over 30 minutes to extinguish the labor-intensive fire.

Mutual aid from Englewood, Dumont, and New Milford assisted on scene. No injuries were reported.
