An early morning garage fire caused significant damage to a Teaneck residence, but caused no apparent injuries.

At approximately 1:00 AM on May 10th, Teaneck FD units responded to 104 Van Arsdale Place. Heavy fire was showing from a first floor garage and was extending to the second floor of the home. All residents were confirmed safely evacuated. A second alarm was transmitted as flames entered the second floor and into the attic. The roof was vented as crews worked to knock down the fire. With assistance from Hackensack and Englewood firefighters the main body of fire was knocked down in about thirty minutes. Other mutual aid companies covered the township firehouses. The cause is under investigation.
