MILFORD, CT — On May 4th — A house on Milford Hunt Lane had a basement fire, which the Milford Fire Department responded to. When Engine 7 arrived first, they noticed smoke rising from the building. When firefighters arrived outside, the homeowner verified that everyone had safely left and that there were fires in the basement.

After advancing a hose line through the garage, the fire was discovered in what looked to be a utility closet. While more units conducted main searches and positioned ladders throughout the house during operations, the fire was swiftly put out. There were no known injuries. According to fire officials, the fire occurred just in the basement. The reason is still being looked into.
