Norwalk Firefighters Rescue Trapped Motorcyclist After I-95 Crash

The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a serious motor vehicle accident on Interstate 95 southbound between exits 14 and 13 late Friday night, May 8, 2026, at approximately 11:29 p.m. Initial dispatch reports indicated the crash involved a motorcycle and SUV, with possible entrapment.
Upon arrival, rescue personnel located a motorcycle and its operator pinned beneath an SUV. Firefighters utilized rapid-deploy lifting equipment and shoring techniques to stabilize and raise the vehicle, allowing crews to extricate the trapped motorcyclist. Fire department personnel transferred primary patient care to Norwalk Hospital EMS and continued assisting with treatment while en route to Norwalk Hospital.
The rescue operation was carried out by Norwalk Fire Department Rescue 2, Engine 2, Tac 1, command staff personnel, and the Darien Fire Department. The condition of the patient has not been released at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the Connecticut State Police.
