NEWFANE, VT - Firefighters responded to a brush fire on Timson Hill Road after a tree fell onto power lines, igniting surrounding vegetation and creating hazardous conditions, May 5th.

Crews were initially unable to engage the fire until power was secured, delaying suppression efforts as utility hazards remained active.

Once conditions were deemed safe, firefighters moved in to knock down the fire and began working through remaining hot spots.

The incident prompted additional mutual aid from East Dover and Dummerston, as Newbrook personnel were also committed to another emergency involving a medical helicopter landing at Onyon Field.
