Two Transported After Collision on MLK Jr. Ave.

(OCALA, FL.) May 4, 2022 – At approximately 9:30 a.m., as Engine 1 and Rescue 1 returned to the station from an emergency call, they encountered what appeared to be a single vehicle accident on the 400 block of SW Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.

The accident involved a Chevy Tahoe which was still running, resting over a street sign. Upon closer inspection a Ford Fusion with heavy front-end damage and an ambulatory driver were spotted across the street.

After assessing the scene assistance from the following units was requested; Engine 4, Battalion Chief 11, and two medic units.

Both drivers were transported to the hospital – the driver of the Tahoe was trauma alerted.

No other injuries were reported.

The Ocala Police Department and Marion County Fire Rescue also responded.
