Engine 43 Supports Wildfire Operations

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On April 11, after working at a 20-acre mountain fire, Franklin Fire Company crews returned at around 9:30 p.m. Later, the Department of Forestry was given control of the scene.

During the incident, Engine 43 set up a dump-tank fill site to assist with brush truck operations. Officials pointed out that recent pump and valve maintenance using Dawn soap was the cause of the thick foam conditions shown in photographs that were making the rounds online.

The department complimented the workers for their efforts during the prolonged wildfire response and stated that the maintenance-related foam presented no risk.
