Quick Interior Attack Limits Apartment Fire Damage in Falconer

Falconer, NY - The Falconer Fire Department responded to reports of smoke inside a multi-unit residential building on West Main Street, where arriving units encountered heavy fire conditions from a first-floor apartment.

Command was established on arrival, and an immediate primary search was conducted in the adjacent unit to ensure no occupants were at risk.

Incoming crews advanced into the structure, systematically clearing remaining apartments while initiating fire suppression operations.

Despite the building containing multiple units, firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control, confining the bulk of the damage to the apartment of origin.

At the time of the incident, several units were unoccupied. The residents of the fire-involved apartment were not home and are receiving assistance from the Red Cross. No injuries were reported among civilians or responding personnel.

The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team responded to determine the cause of the fire. While the investigation remains ongoing, preliminary findings indicate a possible electrical issue originating in a bedroom.
