Smoke Showing From Second Floor Leads Firefighters to Cooking Fire Inside Hinesburg Home

Hinesburg, VT - Firefighters from the Hinesburg Fire Department responded to a residential fire alarm on Kaileys Way after a nearby resident reported hearing alarms sounding and smelling smoke coming from the home.

First arriving crews observed smoke showing from a second-floor window, prompting an immediate mutual aid request. Firefighters deployed a hose line into the residence and forced entry after receiving no response from occupants inside.

Once inside, crews encountered moderate smoke conditions and conducted a rapid primary search of the home.

Firefighters located a small cooking fire on the stove that had been contained to a pan and had not extended into surrounding cabinets or the structure itself.

The heat source was secured, and the pan was safely removed from the residence.

Firefighters then ventilated the home to clear smoke from the interior. The Hinesburg Fire Department was assisted on scene by Charlotte Car 1 and Williston Engine 1 during the response.
