Mutual Aid Response Supports Station 88

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Calumet, PA — April 21st — A reported trailer fire prompted the Calumet Volunteer Fire Department, located at 4143 State Route 981, Calumet, PA, United States, 15666, to aid Station 88 Hecla. When Tanker 109 arrived, it supported suppression efforts by providing water to units working on the spot. Tanker shuttle operations are frequently employed to maintain a consistent water supply in places without hydrants.

In order to support fireground operations and preserve water flow, Calumet Volunteer Fire Department members collaborated with mutual aid personnel. Coordinated departmental response is still a basic component of fire service operations, particularly in situations when a continuous water supply is needed in rural areas.
