This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

BOZRAH, CT - At 3:15 P.M. on Saturday, April 29th, the Bozrah Fire Department with mutual aid from Yantic, Colchester, Lebanon, Gardner Lake, Salem, Montville and the Mohegan Tribal FAST, were dispatched to the area of 152 Fitchville Road for a house fire. Ladder 126 arrived and set up on Fitchville Road while putting a handline into operation. Engine 126 was able to park in the driveway and stretched a hose line to the front. Engine 33 laid in from a hydrant near the Moose Lodge which supplied Bozrah’s Ladder and Engine. Engine 31 pumped the hydrant and sent manpower forward. Crews knocked down heavy fire from the exterior and then stretched a line into the original home and the addition. Crews pulled ceilings to expose the fire while Ladder 128 cut the roof. Firefighters operated inside for a while before command ordered the evacuation tone. The Bozrah Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
