Mashantucket Chief Chaney Retires

On Friday, May 2nd the Mashantucket Pequot Fire Department celebrated the retirement of Chief Floyd Chaney. Chief Chaney served multiple agencies throughout his 51 years of dedicated service including the Montville, Mohegan Tribal and Mashantucket Departments. His final stance before retirement was a 7 year stint as the Chief of Mashantucket. During his tenure, he replaced all of the apparatus for the department. Family and friends gathered for a luncheon at the Mashantucket station. Local 4746 honored the Chaney with a sign off and send off. Following that, Chief Chaney walked out under the American Flag for the final time.
