MONROEVILLE, PA — While assisting neighboring departments during a second-alarm duplex fire in Swissvale, Monroeville Volunteer Fire Department Company 5 provided station coverage to ensure continued protection across the area.

During that assignment, crews were dispatched to a possible structure fire in Edgewood, responding as the first-due engine and assuming command upon arrival. The situation was quickly brought under control, with firefighters confirming no further hazards.

The response highlights the importance of mutual aid and station coverage, ensuring communities remain protected even when primary units are committed to larger incidents.
