Patient Transported with Non-Life-Threatening Injuries

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On April 17, in the vicinity of Mt. Carmel Road and Geisler Way, the Penn Hills No. 7 Volunteer Fire Company responded to a reported single-vehicle collision into a tree with potential entrapment.

The driver was out of the car and on the road when the police came, and the engine compartment was on fire. Until Penn Hills Emergency Medical Services arrived, Chief 227 helped with patient treatment. The assignment was expanded to include Engines 225 and 122, among other units.

The majority of the fire was put out by Rescue 227, and when Engine 225 arrived, the remaining hot areas were treated. As situations improved, further troops were repatriated. EMS transported the operator, who had non-life-threatening injuries. 227CHF held command.
