Hinsdale, NY - The Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department responded on mutual aid to the Lyncourt Fire District for a working commercial structure fire, where crews encountered heavy smoke and active fire conditions.
Upon arrival, Engine 8 personnel were assigned to open walls and ceilings, assisting in locating and extinguishing hidden fire. After completing their assignment, units began clearing the scene.
While returning to their district, Hinsdale crews were redirected to a second incident—a large outdoor fire near the former General Motors plant. Engine 8 arrived, confirmed the fire, and requested additional mutual aid resources, along with a tanker pumper to support operations in a non-hydrant area.
Firefighters worked to contain the blaze with coordinated support from multiple agencies before returning to service, marking a demanding and effective multi-incident response.
