Three fatal fires occur in New Hampshire cities

New Hampshire fire departments kept very busy this past week with three tragic fires. Manchester firefighters battled a fire in large 3 story garden style apartment that killed a resident and severly burned a second resident at the apartment complex on Village Circle Way on April 25th. Numerous calls came into the Fire Alarm Office reporting a fire at 245 Village Circle Way at 10:50 pm and a full responce with two RIT Engines and an ALS Ambulance was dispatched on the initial Box. Engine 4, housed about one mile away from the fire, could see the glow in the sky as they approached the area. Heavy fire was showing from the rear porches with occupants trapped on the third floor balconies. Firefighters began evacuating and searching for residents trapped. Under extreme conditions two residents were rescued immediately by Truck 6 and Rescue 1's firefighters. A second alarm was ordered by Battalion Chief Fosher as firefighters began evacuating the 28 apartments and knocking down the heavy fire in rear porches which soon collapsed. A third alarm was transmitted for manpower. The fire was brought under control at 12:42 AM and the NH State Fire Marshals office was called to the scene to assist the Manchester Fire Investigators due to the serious injuries. A fatal fire killed a resident in Concord on Friday afternoon and a 2-Alarm fire killed a resident and severely burn a second resident in the City of Nashua on Cross Street Saturday morning April 26. And a three alarm fire also destroyed an apartment building Saturday afternoon in downtown Lincoln leaving numeous residents homeless. Its been a extremely busy week for New Hampshire firefighters.
