Fast Action by Chief Officer Limits Rapidly Spreading House Fire in Jefferson Hills

Jefferson Hills, PA - Jefferson Hills Fire-Rescue units responded to a working residential fire after an assistant chief discovered smoke coming from a home and located fire beneath a deck extending into the structure.


The officer requested a first alarm, evacuated occupants, and began initial suppression efforts with a garden hose.

Arriving crews encountered heavy fire throughout the residence, initiated fire attack and searches, and upgraded the incident to a second alarm due to conditions.


Firefighters operated for several hours before bringing the fire under control, with standby companies covering the area.
