Brush Unit 21-1 Assists in Multi-Agency Wildfire Response in West Deptford
Berlin, NJ - On April 11, 2026, at approximately 12: 20 hours, Brush Unit 21-1 was dispatched to West Deptford Township as part of the Camden County Brush Unit Strike Team to support operations at a large wildfire in the area of Red Bank Avenue and Hessian Avenue.
Brush Unit 21-1 responded with a crew of three firefighters and initially staged alongside incoming mutual-aid resources. The crew was later assigned to the active fireground, where they assisted with fire suppression and containment operations to help prevent further spread of the wildfire.
Personnel remained on scene for approximately three hours before being released by command.
The cause of the wildfire remained under investigation by the relevant authorities, including the West Deptford Fire Department, Gloucester County Emergency Management, New Jersey Forest Fire Service, and Camden County Fire Coordinators.
