On April 23rd at 16:40 hours, Station 33 (Honey Brook) along with EMS and Lancaster Squad 34 were dispatched to the 600 BLK of Twin County Road, in Honey Brook Township for motor vehicle accident reported with entrapment. Engine 33-1 with a crew of six arrived first to find a tractor trailer vs. a small sedan, and confirmed its operator was trapped. Lieutenant 33B (Riehl) established the initial command while the crew from E331 stabilized the vehicle, initiated patient care, and removed the driver side door. Ultimately, due to the severity of the extrication, crews removed the roof and rolled the dash to safely extricate the patient from the vehicle, who was transported to a local area hospital. Fire Police units from 33 and Lancaster 34 would keep the roadway shutdown for several hours before it could be safely reopened. Chief 33 held the Twin County Road Command.
