Occupants Escape House Fire in Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY - On Monday, April 26th at 7:42 P.M., the Rochester Fire Department responded to 9 Child Street for the report of a house fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found a working fire in a large two-family dwelling. The occupants were able to escape after being alerted by smoke detectors. The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes. One resident was transported to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. The Red Cross was assisting three adults and one child who were displaced by the fire.
