Three-Alarm Fatal Fire in East Windsor

EAST WINDSOR, NJ - East Windsor firefighters responded at 2:27 P.M. on March 5th to a reported structure fire on Bennington Drive, located in the Twin Rivers section of East Windsor. On arrival they were met with heavy fire showing from a two-story wood-frame townhouse. One burn victim, an elderly female, was airlifted to a nearby burn center where she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. Responding on the first-alarm were East Windsor #2 E-46, East Windsor #1 E-42, Robbinsville Squad 40, and Hightstown L-42. Responding on the second and third alarms were Millstone Twp. E-32-1, L-42-3, E-43-1, Princeton Jct., E-44, West Windsor 43-1, Cranbury E-48, Plainsboro E-49, Upper Freehold Hope FC E 8281, Hamilton Fire Division SQ 16, T-17, Manalapan T-26, Monroe Twp. L-23, TS 46, TWR-57, and Princeton T-60. The Mercer County Fire Coordinator and Mercer County Canteen Signal 22 were also on scene. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and being investigated by Mercer County Fire Mashals Kevin Brink and Mike Oakley.
