BINGHAMTON, NY - On April 20th, Binghamton Fire Department crews were sent to a working fire in a two-family residence, with flames extending from the first floor to the second. Multiple hose lines were deployed as firefighters simultaneously ventilated and searched the structure. Several cats and a dog were rescued from the smoke-filled home. Operations were complicated by heavy clutter inside and around the residence, impacting access and movement. The fire was brought under control with assistance from mutual aid companies, and the cause remains under investigation.
