As Sarasota Burn Mitigation Team was holding their annual truck refresher at Carlton Reserve a column of smoke started to build to the west. Units were sent to scout the potential fire. Units confirmed it was a Wildfire, this block of woods has not burned since 2007 and had a lot of down trees from the last Hurricane. Sarasota County Fire responded to the scene along with Florida Forestry. Englewood and Nokomis were assigned to Structure protection on the opposite side of the river. Florida Forestry Spotter Plane and Helicopter worked the fire. Tractor Plow Units cut line around the fire while Engines worked off the Plow Line Mopping up.
