SOUND BEACH, NY - On Saturday, April 20th at 11:30 A.M., the Firehouse Restaurant & Bar hosted its grand opening/ribbon cutting ceremony. The restaurant is named in memory of FDNY Lt. Joseph P. DiBernado. Lt. DiBernado was assigned to Rescue Co. 3 in the Bronx and served with the FDNY from 1995 until Black Sunday in 2005. Lt. DiBernado was also a volunteer firefighter with the Setauket Fire Department. The restaurant is owned by Joe and Barbra DiBernado, the parents of Lt. DiBernado. Members of the DiBernado Family, Sound Beach Fire Department, Miller Place Fire Department, Terryville Fire Department, Setauket Fire Department, community members, and local government officials attended the ceremony. The Firehouse Restaurant & Bar is located at 30 New York Avenue, Sound Beach, NY.
