COLRAIN, MA — The Colrain Firefighters' Association responded to a reported brush fire that quickly escalated to involve a camper, prompting a multi-unit response.

First-arriving crews found a fully involved camper fire with a small area of grass burning and threatening to extend toward a nearby wood line.

Engines and brush units initiated an aggressive attack, bringing the camper fire under control while stopping the forward progress of the brush fire.

Mutual aid units assisted with overhaul operations to ensure all hotspots were extinguished. EMS and police units remained on scene to support operations.

All crews were later released after the incident was brought under control.
