ELMONT, NY — March 30th — A house fire at 1393 E Street was reported to the Elmont Fire Department, which is based at 95 Lehrer Avenue. Unit 7010, the first to arrive, sent an operational fire assignment and reported observable fire conditions. The fire was discovered by crews on a private home's first-floor rear setback. Firefighters launched an internal assault, stretching an initial handline.
Other workers evaluated the structure for extensions and helped with ventilation. Suppression efforts continued while primary searches were finished.
