Mutual Aid Activated for Overturned Boat Call

ATLANTIC BEACH, NY — April 18th — Four people were in the water of an overturned boat in Reynolds Channel behind 1874 Bay Boulevard when the Atlantic Beach Rescue was called. Crews discovered that all four people had self-extricated onto a neighboring wharf when they arrived. Each patient was assessed by EMS staff for potential hypothermia brought on by exposure to water.
Ambulance 2321, Tower Ladder 2372, Marine 2397, Atlantic Beach Rescue Ambulance 369, and Woodmere Volunteer Fire Department Ambulance 3591 were among the units present. For mutual aid assistance, the Inwood and Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Departments were notified. The Nassau County Police Marine Bureau received the wrecked ship. Chief John Marino, together with Assistant Chiefs DiGiacomo and Ray, oversaw operations.
