QUEENS, NY - On April 18th shortly after midnight, Queens companies were dispatched to an occupied multiple dwelling at 57-29 Catalpa Avenue in the Ridgewood section. Arriving units found heavy smoke pushing from the second floor. A quick response by the FDNY limited the danger and prevented spread to any of the exposures. Firefighters rescued several pets, and at least four civilians suffered minor injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the FDNY Bureau of Fire Investigation.
