WARWICK, RI — April 8th — In order to assist personnel working at a second alarm structure fire with a hazardous materials component, the Special Signal Fire Association/Providence Canteen, located at 100 Minnesota Ave., deployed Canteen 4 to 3 Dexter Road in East Providence. In order to provide firemen and emergency personnel with hydration and refreshments during prolonged operations, canteen staff created a rehabilitation sector.

Fire and hazardous material incidents frequently call for extended activity and stringent safety procedures, which raises the demand for structured rehabilitation assistance. While support units made sure troops could rotate through rest cycles and maintain readiness, fire and hazmat teams worked under unified leadership. Canteen 4 supported staff during the event and stayed on the scene until it was ordered to leave.
