WARWICK, RI — April 5th — Canteen 4 was sent to Day Street in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, by the Special Signal Fire Association/Providence Canteen, 100 Minnesota Ave., to assist workers at a working structure fire. When they arrived, canteen staff set up a rehabilitation area to give firefighters and other emergency personnel working on the scene light refreshments and fluids. During prolonged crises, support units like canteen services are crucial in assisting workers in maintaining operational effectiveness through cycles of rest and rehydration.

Rehab and logistical support are crucial elements of incident management since working structure fires frequently necessitate ongoing activities. During active incidents, the response demonstrated ongoing collaboration between operational and support elements. No problems were observed during operations, and Canteen 4 stayed on the scene until it was released by command.
