Mutual Aid Key in Barre Town Fire Incident

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

WEBSTERVILLE, VT — April 11th — A deadly structural fire necessitated a massive, well-coordinated response from the Barre Town Fire Department, located at 149 Websterville Road. Under a single command, crews advanced handlines, carried out searches, and assisted with fireground operations. More workers were needed because of the building's layout and fire conditions. Operations and coverage were aided by mutual aid from the fire departments of Barre City, Washington, Williamstown, Berlin, Tri-Village, Chelsea, and Brookfield.

Green Mountain Power helped with utilities, and Lamoille Dispatch handled communications. The issue is still being looked into. In large-scale reactions, officials emphasized the significance of coordinated mutual aid.
