HOLLIS, NH — March 25th — With mutual help from Pepperell Ladder 1, the Hollis NH Fire Department, located at 10 Glenice Drive, responded to a reported chimney fire on Worcester Road. After confirming that there was a chimney fire, the first responders started looking for any extension into the building. Firefighters monitored flue conditions, performed inside inspections, and applied ventilation when necessary. In order to make sure the fire had not spread past the chimney, Ladder 1 helped with external inspections and roof access.

During the winter, chimney fires are a frequent occurrence and are frequently brought on by creosote accumulation. To finish the overhaul and verify total extinguishment, crews stayed on the scene. There were no reported injuries when the incident was brought under control. Mutual aid assistance contributed to the upkeep of efficient and secure operations.
