Hollis Firefighters Trace Building Smoke to Malfunctioning HVAC Unit

Hollis, NH - Hollis Fire Department crews responded to a fire alarm activation after reports of smoke inside a building on Clinton Drive.

While en route, firefighters were advised of a 911 caller reporting visible smoke. Upon arrival, crews encountered a light haze and began investigating the source.


Firefighters quickly identified a malfunctioning rooftop HVAC unit with a burned motor that was pushing smoke into the building. The unit was shut down and secured, while crews ventilated the structure to remove the smoke.


No injuries were reported, and the situation was safely mitigated by responding personnel
