WEST GREENWICH, RI — April 13th — A suspected roof fire in the Hianloland neighborhood prompted the response of West Greenwich Volunteer Fire Company No. 1.
Chiefs 203 and 204, Engine 22, Hianloland Engine 20, and Lake Mishnock Tanker 1 were among the units sent out. When crews arrived, they discovered that leaves on the roof had caught fire due to sparks from a wood-burning stove chimney. As soon as possible, firefighters responded to the issue by clearing the burning material and examining the structure for extension. Before it spread further, the fire was put out.
