Multiple Crews Respond to Second Alarm Blaze in Conklin
Conklin, NY - At 13:02 on April 8, 2026, the Conklin Volunteer Fire Department, along with mutual aid agencies, responded to a reported trailer fire at 1808 Conklin Road. Broome County Dispatch received multiple emergency calls indicating flames were visible from the kitchen, prompting Chief 46B to upgrade the incident to a second alarm.
Engine 46 was the first unit to arrive on scene and initiated defensive firefighting operations due to the advanced fire conditions. Crews worked efficiently to bring the fire under control and successfully extinguished it, transitioning to overhaul operations within 30 minutes.
All occupants were able to evacuate safely, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
