Moonachie Fatal Fire

MOONACHIE, NJ - One person was confirmed dead and another suffered burns in a shed fire in Moonachie during the late afternoon of April 10th.
The fire on Oak Street began around 4:30 p.m., when Moonachie police started to get calls and radio reports of a working fire. As first due units arrived, the structure was heavily involved. The fire was contained to the structure and did not extend to the main home.
Mutual aid from Carlstadt, Hasbrouck Heights, Little Ferry and Wood-Ridge assisted on the scene. Moonachie police and firefighters found a male victim dead inside the shed, according to Bergen County Prosecutor's Deputy Chief of Detectives, Jeff Angermeyer.
An official cause has not immediately been determined. Detectives from the prosecutor's Arson Task Force and Major Crimes Unit were at the scene, along with Moonachie police and members of the county sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification.
