On April 27, 2025, at approximately 13:20 hours, the Paulsboro and Gibbstown Fire Departments were dispatched to W. Jefferson and N. Delaware Streets in Paulsboro for a brush fire. Shortly after dispatch, the Gloucester County fire dispatcher upgraded the assignment to a dwelling fire at 1004 North Delaware Street. Gibbstown Fire Chief, Bryan Nastase, was first to arrive with smoke showing from twin, attached, two story wood frame dwellings. He immediately transmitted the all hands signal which brought in additional fire resources. Chief Nastase assigned first due, Gibbstown Ladder 2116, to the front of the building where they were to initiate the fire attack. Two lines were stretched and operated on the C/D corner of the dwelling, but the fire quickly spread up the wood exterior in to the interior and to the attic space. Westville Ladder Co. 736 was special called to utilize their ladder pipe in the attic space. Additional units were also called to assist with water supply, fire suppression, roof ventilation, overhaul, and RIT duties. The fire involved vacant dwellings at 1004 and 1006 N. Delaware Street. No injuries were reported and the fire was placed under control at 15:10 hours.
