Outside Fire in Derry Extends to Barn

DERRY, NH - Around 2:30 P.M. on April 14th, Derry Fire Alarm sent companies out for a reported brush fire on Walnut Hill Road. While enroute a large smoke column was seen in the distance. The first firefighters on scene reported a barn well involved and an acre of brush burning. A working fire was requested as well as a task force of tankers due to being out of the water area. The fire was under control within an hour, but companies were tied up wetting down. The fire is under investigation by the Derry Fire Department. There were no injuries reported.
