NORTH EAST, PA — March 15th — A reported structure fire in the 1000 block of Priestley Avenue prompted the Fuller Hose Company to react on a mutual aid assignment to Lawrence Park. When Engine 202 arrived, it was sent to the third story for a fire assault and overhaul. It was manned by six volunteers. In order to access and put out a hidden fire, crews had to extend into the attic and open ceilings.
Coordinated interior work with mutual help organizations was necessary for operations; this is a normal procedure for multi-story house fires involving attics. First alarm companies from Lawrence Park, Fairfield, Brookside, Harborcreek, and East Erie County EMS were under the leadership of Chief 280. Members of Fuller Hose worked for around two hours before being let go and going back to their lodgings.
