Fairfield Crews Respond to Fatal MVA Involving Utility Pole

ERIE, PA — March 15th — One person was killed in a car collision in the 5000 block of East Lake Road, which prompted the Fairfield Hose Company Volunteer Fire Department to respond. When the crews arrived, they discovered a car that had collided with and sheared a utility pole. Coordination with EMS and law police was established, and the scene was secured. At the scene, one adult male was declared dead.


Utility companies were alerted to the dangers posed by the damaged pole and any possible electrical concerns. Utility infrastructure incidents necessitate cautious scene management until electricity is restored. Units stayed on the scene until it was stabilized, at which point they were turned over to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
