Norwalk, CT - The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a reported lawn mower fire up against a garage on Sherwood Street.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a riding lawn mower fully engulfed in flames next to a detached single-car garage.

The fire had already extended to the exterior of the structure, reaching into the soffits and pushing toward the roof peak.

Crews quickly brought the fire under control, stopping it from spreading into the interior of the garage and limiting further damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Norwalk Fire Marshal Division.
