Stamford, CT - The Belltown Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported kitchen fire at a residence on Newfield Avenue, prompting a first-alarm structure fire assignment.
Engine 43 and Engine 9 arrived quickly to find smoke showing from a two-story wood-frame home. Crews from Engine 9 used a water can to hold the fire in check, while Engine 43 advanced a hose line to fully extinguish the remaining fire.
All occupants had safely evacuated prior to the fire department’s arrival, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Stamford Fire Marshal’s Office.
