At 7:21 pm on April 8, the Limerick Fire Department was dispatched to a reported shed fire on Deerfield Rd. Chief 51, Deputy 51, Engine 51, Tanker 51, Squad 51, Field 51-2, Fire Police, and Limerick Police responded. Reports stated that something had exploded in the shed.
Chief 51 arrived first and confirmed a working shed fire with no exposures. Upon arrival, Engine 51’s crew immediately stretched a line and went into service. The fire was found to have extended into nearby trees, and Field 51-2 accessed the area from an adjacent property to assist with shed and brush fire operations beyond the property of origin.
Fire Marshals were requested to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire. The fire was placed under control at 7:38 p.m., with no injuries reported to homeowners or neighbors. A few chickens were rescued from the adjoining burning coop; no chickens were harmed (or cooked) during fire operations.
