Mastic Beach NY- On Thursday April 18th at about 5:35 PM the Mastic Beach FD received a call for smoke in the area of Laurelton Dr. Moments later a 2nd call was received for a report of a house fire on Hugenot Dr off Gooseberry rd. On Arrival Chiefs Jeff McGown and Fred found a fully involved auto to the rear of a home on Hugenot.
Unit 5-13-8 was requested to come into the scene first due. The crew immediately stretched a line to the back yard and made an attack. Unit 5-13-3 was 2nd due and their crew came into the scene and assisted the crew from unit 8. Firefighters were able to make a quick knock down and prevented the fire from spreading to the home or the yard. The road was closed while firefighters operated in the area. No injuries were reported.
